Geisens on the Run...

“… let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." Hebrews 12:1b
Southeast Asia is desperate for solutions to problems facing their children and teenagers. In the
minds of most people, the need for more effective education stands above all other needs.  Our
vision is to see generations of children, teenagers, and eventually college students, discipled into
the Kingdom of God and raised up to become leaders by well trained and equipped indigenous
teachers in hundreds of schools throughout the region.
We would like to invite you to partner with us in the work that the Lord is doing in Southeast Asia.
You can be part of our team by praying, and providing financial support and encouragement.

Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.: Chronicles 16:24

FROM the Henderson family adventure Newsletter
This is hard, but worth it.  We just completed our first training Unit (out of 6), called Orientation,
which is tied for the smallest in duration and will probably end up ranking the highest in ease.  In just
the last 8 weeks we all read at least 6 books, wrote multiple reports, prepared team devotions. spent
several hours in daily language learning, memorized 11 scr1pture v3rses in Kiswahili, dealt with
significant frustrations in fixing house issues, learned what it's like to have unreliable water and
power...but all of us persevered and are much better for it!  "And let steadfastness have its full effect,
that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."  J4mes 1:4
Our ministry is, and will continue to be in the process of being trained.  From now until
August, when it's expected that I'll begin teaching Chr1stianity and English, our full time and attention
is on bonding as a family, thriving in our new location, learning Kiswahili, and absorbing academic
information while putting what we learn into practical use around us...Every day that L and I leave
the house to buy something, or practice our new Kiswahili phrases, or walk 35-45 minutes for a team
meeting - we are being watched and heard.  And G*d uses the process of our training to gl*rify Himself
as we prepare ourselves for what it will take to be cross-cultural d1sciplemakers.
More thoughts.  Our next Unit is called "Pr@yer and Sp1ritual Warfare."  We've heard this is often
the most growing and possibly controversial training Unit that we'll cover.  Could you pr@y for us extra
over the next 16 weeks?  From now until early May I expect the Lo*rd to reveal more to us about the
sp1ritual battle going on all around us, and that He will lead us in the battle more as He equips us by
His grace.  May we, and you, ask the L*rd to fill all of us with His H*ly Sp1rit so that we can be
fully armored.
Overall, as I contemplate the state of the things 3 months in, I am thrilled.  Praise G*d!  Our team loves
each other, L and I are doing great in our marriage, our children appear to be consistently happy,
my relationship with the L*rd is strong.  We welcome any questions you might have for us, and we
also welcome any updates you're willing to provide about things going on in your life!  Tunawapendal!
(We love you!)

     (children are in order pictured)
In 2009, Sean traveled with a team to Southeast Asia, where he sensed a distinct calling to pursue
full-time missions in that region of the world.  At the same time, back home, God was preparing Carlee
for this call as well.  Following this initial trip, Sean and Carlee began to make preparations for full-time
service overseas, making several more trips to Southeast Asia, and solidifying the direction they felt
God had given them.
Sean and Carlee are currently preparing to follow God's call overseas - to take the gospel of Jesus to a
predominantly Muslim country, where they will plant their lives in order to help in discipling believers who
are training to be teachers.  They will be working in conjunction with  Mustard Seed International
(, serving with a team there.  They will also be involved in the special needs community,
working through the Christian School where they will be based, in order to show God's great value for
ALL people, regardless of their ability or position in life.
Departure Date:  August 2015

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles,
and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our
eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set
before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God.  Consider Him who endured such opposition from
sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
