Thanks for setting yourself apart to worship God by entering the delightful and challenging world of Early Childhood Ministry! My goal is to help you find your niche on our team and to equip you with everything you need to feel “blessed not stressed” in the classroom so that you can focus on building loving relationships with preschoolers and their families.
We have an amazing team of volunteers made up of people just like you— with jobs, families and demanding schedules. Our team is eager to pray with you or just listen when life gets tough, and we are ready to party and celebrate the good times, too!
God has called you here to fulfill a specific purpose! The impact you make in the lives of preschoolers is of eternal significance, and I thank you for sacrificing your time for them.
GETTING STARTED
Every person who serves in GBC Kids is asked to complete a
volunteer application which includes a national background check. You may click on the link above to view/print the application yourself, or request one from the Early Childhood Ministry staff next time you are at church. You can also stop by during the week to request one from our office. After your application is processed, you will be contacted by the Early Childhood Ministry Coordinator, Jennifer Cunningham to schedule a friendly meeting to discuss which area you’d like to begin
loving preschoolers into

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS
NURSERY, Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Our nursery volunteers are a treasure to young parents who need to attend church without worry. Tears turn to giggles as we rock, play and sing “Jesus loves me” to our littlest learners. If you can wipe little noses and help busy little hands learn to share, one of our nursery classes just might be for you!
PRESCHOOL LINK UP, Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
Our 9:00 a.m. “Link Up” follows a traditional Sunday School format with one exception: no preparation is needed! Our weekly Link Up Teachers are given a book and an activity agenda. All supplies—from crayons to story pictures—are ready and waiting each Sunday when the class begins at 8:45 a.m. If you like to watch children explore the Bible with hands-on fun and love reading Bible Stories to kids, then Link Up is for you!
PRESCHOOL GEAR UP, Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
Our 10:30 a.m. “Gear Up” engages kids in worship and play. Gear Up leaders take children to two rotations: Worship Time and Game Time, where our expert Station Leaders do the teaching for you. This role is perfect for you if you want to have fun helping out once a month, but don’t want to do the teaching.
STATION LEADERS, Sundays at 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.
Station Leaders know how to command a room of 30+ preschoolers in a fun and engaging way. Telling the Bible Study, making puppets come to life, wiggling in worship, serving snack, leading games--even our media technicians—all play in important role in teaching God’s Word in unique ways.
SUPPLY COORDINATORS, weekday
In order to equip our Sunday and Wednesday leaders, it takes a team to prepare and gather supplies. Supply coordinators are highly organized and innovative. A couple hours of prep work in the Resource Room during the week makes a huge difference on Sunday mornings.
