Middle/Senior Adult Ministry

Mission Statement:

We at Graceland value the experience and wisdom middle/senior adults contribute to the mission of our church.  When you attend Graceland, we desire that you will feel welcome, wanted, and needed.

The mission of the Middle / Senior Adult Ministry is to activate people from age 50 and above.  This program provides activities that foster fellowship, spiritual growth, and outreach.

They shall bring forth fruit in old age. Psalm 92:14a

Opportunities and Activities:

Every Sunday:   Bible Fellowship Classes – There are several available; find the one that best serves your needs.

Wednesday Nights:  Get involved in a Life University Class.  There are several to choose from.

·         Game Night, Saturday, Aug. 14

Come join us for a night of games, food, and fellowship. We will have a pitch-in meal. The meat, beverages, and bread will be provided. Please bring a salad, vegetable, or dessert in a dish with your name clearly marked.

You can either play games or just sit and fellowship! Possible games could include billiards, miniature golf, euchre, croquet, corn hole, dominoes, Bunco, checkers, or board games.  In order to have enough games for everyone, please bring your favorite, non-gambling game with your name on it.

Tickets may be purchased for $2.00 each in the bookstore Sunday, July 25, Aug. 1, and Aug. 8.   This event is for people aged 50 and over, or someone married to a middle/senior adult, or a caregiver for person who qualifies.

·         Fall Bash, Saturday, Oct. 16

This event is still in planning, but it will include our second, annual Cornbread and Bean Supper. Keep your eye on the church bulletin for upcoming details.

·         Gospel Night, Sunday, Nov. 14

This will be our fourth, annual Gospel Night featuring Smith & Company Gospel Quartet. Many, if not most of you, have heard our group and have expressed a desire to hear us again. Also appearing with us this year will be The Sons of Liberty Quartet from Stanton, Kentucky. I have known these Kentucky boys for years, and believe me, they can really sing!  But more importantly, they know the One they sing about. This will be an exciting, three hours of gospel music. A love offering will be collected.
